Michael Allison’s Communication Leadership

Obligatory Introduction

Posted by: Michael on: March 13, 2007

I am a novice blogger. And proud of it. I am under no illusion that anyone will read this, but I have the impression that cyber-self-promotion is mandatory. What follows are some guidelines/resignations that I hope serve as success-inducing criteria:

  1. Unoriginality. Most of the time, someone has already blogged about what I want to write; They have already said it better and faster than me.
  1. Punditry. The blogosphere is made up of discourse. A few words on what someone else has said is worth more than repeating him or her.
  1. Brevity. Short insights that take no more than a few seconds to scan are more valuable than lengthy diatribes, given my expertise.
  1. Expertise. I am an expert on a small niche of PR and marketing: I am an expert at being inexperienced. Un-jaded with fresh ideas, yet unavoidably cynical.
  1. Trackback. When I can figure this out, I will.

Bio: A political science major, I am working on a master of arts in professional communication at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC, Canada. I work part-time as a marketing coordinator for an architectural design company. Interests include: entrepreneurship, viewing international politics through a realist lens, and reality TV. These are my stories.
